Drones Are Moving Into Residential Airspace
Commercial drone activity is expanding rapidly into neighborhoods across the country. These flights are taking place at low altitudes—often directly above private property—where homeowners have historically had little visibility or input.
What was once open sky is becoming an active corridor for commercial operations.
Property Rights Still Matter
While the FAA regulates navigable airspace, courts have long recognized that property owners retain rights in the airspace necessary for the use and enjoyment of their land. When low-altitude drone activity becomes frequent, intrusive, or disruptive, those rights can come into play.
